Regions

Last Updated: Dec 09, 2012 08:08AM EST
In the settings, you can change your region, which boosts results for that region.

You can switch regions quickly on a per-query basis by adding r:fr to the end of the query (e.g. in that case the region would be France). That is a shorthand for the full syntax of region:fr-fr (full list of available regions is at our URL params page).

Using the region setting will boost results within that region (as opposed to exclusively displaying results for that region). Alternatively, you can restrict results to country domains, by adding site:uk to the end (for *.uk).

Unfortunately, we don't have complete control of the regions as we rely on some external sources to help us with them. But we're constantly monitoring them to allow for more.
