- Right-click the address bar (where it says duckduckgo.com).
- Select Edit search engines.
- Find and select DuckDuckGo in the list.
- Click Make Default.
- It should then move to the very top with (Default) next to it.
These directions are also available on the DuckDuckGo homepage by clicking Add to Chrome at the bottom. To add the encrypted (SSL) version use the encrypted homepage.
If you can't find DuckDuckGo in the list in step 3, then go to the homepage and click 'Add to Chrome' at the bottom. In the set of directions that come up, there is another link to click to make it appear.
Also, check out our new Chrome extension that adds Zero-click info to your Google results!
Alternatively, these (non-Company) extensions also use DuckDuckGo:
- FastestChrome - you can highlight a word or phrase and get DuckDuckGo 0-click info.
- Voice Search by Eli Grey (open source) - enables search by voice.
- DDG + Google Suggest by Nathan Friedly (open source) - adds Google auto-complete.
